Pink pure

Let's play with food. We color the pure and we make a face. One calm, one nervous. Which one do you prefer?

I have chosen to color the pure in the most natural way, with beet that I have produce myself in our green house. Some time ago after the harvest, I have boiled the beet, let it cool and freeze it. Now it was ready to use it.

The result was a pink pure ... what else could be more interesting for a little girl?

  • 2kg potatoes
  • 50g butter
  • 100g milk
  • 1 beet (boiled/steamed or not)
  • 1/2 tablespoon salt

  1. Peel potatoes and cut them in slices.
  2. Steam the potatoes for 45 minutes. If the beet is not boiled/steamed already, you can add it near the potatoes to be steamed together.
  3. Dice the beet in small pieces. You can also grate it if you prefer.
  4. Use a mixer to smash the potatoes.
  5. Add the milk and the butter to make the pure more smooth. Feel free to add more milk or butter at your own taste.
  6. Add the diced beet and continue to mix until you get an uniform color.
  7. Serve it warm or keep it covered in the fridge for the next few days.

And this is the more angry version :)
