Vanilla ice cream

A very classic recipe of vanilla ice cream that is homemade. Classic, but it can beat any vanilla ice cream found on the market.
I was used to make ice cream by freezing smoothies. It is more simple this way but it lacks the creamy aspect. I thought making creamy ice cream is something complicated. Well with this recipe I discovered that it is not. The vanilla ice cream is in fact a classic vanilla custard that is frozen. What you get is an amazing ice cream to have in your freezer when you want a little treat for yourself.

Ingredients:
  • 1 vanilla bean
  • 500ml whole milk
  • 6 egg yolks
  • 100g sugar
  • 250g milk cream

Directions:
  1. Remove the seeds of the vanilla bean and add them in milk.
  2. Bring the milk with vanilla seeds to boil.
  3. Put the egg yolks and sugar in a bowl and beat them until they become white.
  4. Add slowly the hot milk over the egg yolk and continue to mix.
  5. Put back this composition in the pot (the one in which the milk was boiled) over medium heat and mix continuously. Do not let this composition to boil.
  6. Remove it from the heat and let it cool completely.
  7. Pour this composition in the ice cream maker and turn it on for 25 minutes.
