Chicken with peas


I know this recipe for such a long time.... My mother used to make it a lot when I was a child. For some unknown reasons I simply forgot about it in the last years. I made it now again and wandering myself how come that I was not doing it lately. Such a tasty and healthy food !


Ingredients:
  • 4 chicken legs (cut in 3 pieces)
  • 2 onions (diced)
  • 1,5 kg frozen peas (of course you can use fresh as well)
  • 2 tablespoon of all purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon corn starch
  • 1 tablespoon chicken stock
  • 250g tomato juice

Directions:
  1. Boil the chicken legs for 45 minutes. The water added in the pan should cover the chicken pieces.
  2. Add the peas and onion.
  3. In a separate bowl mix the cornstarch with flour and chicken stock. 
  4. Add some water in which the chicken were boiling and mix until you obtain a composition like a cream. Add more water and mix until becomes more liquid.
  5. Add this flour composition over the chicken and peas.
  6. Add also the tomato juice and let it boil for 30 minutes.
